On the last couple of vists to our lower beats I've taken a couple of Rainbow Trout while salmon fishing. Obviously shouldn't be in the river and will have been escapees from somewhere. All were full finned though one was quite thin.

Anyone else picked up any rainbows from the Dee this season?

Well that's unusual - would

Well that's unusual - would be interesting to know where they came from!

Variety is the spice of life - keep you posted if I catch one.

Been illegal to stock them

Been illegal to stock them for a number of years Bill. That's what makes it strange.

Russel, took them at the bottom of Ormrods. Had a bizarre situation last weekend. Had another rainbow, hooked through the nose (not the funny bit). Wandered up stream and was fishing back through the same pool about an hour later when I hooked another. On landing it, there was a distinct red mark where the previous fish was hooked. Must have been the same fish.
