Monday 27th November:

The graph of the river level on our Home Page looks pretty discouraging. I'm not sure what is going on with the Manley Hall gauge but I walked Shadow along the Village Beat at 10 o'clock this morning and the water was 3ft 9ins (45 inches) above normal on our depth board, and running clear. Very fishable.

Yesterday, Karl and James had fifteen or sixteen fish on weighted flies fished in the edge of the current, so it can be done if you stick at it. A high pressure centre is approaching us from the West and although that will gives us northerly winds at first, it should turn warmer as we get into the circulation from the relatively warm waters of the Gulf Stream. Rising pressure is supposed to be good for fishing.

May I please remind members fishing our Village beat that car parking at the Royal Oak is by grace and favour, so please show your appreciation by having a pint or a coffee and something to eat occasionally.
