Weds 30th Jan 2013

George Wallace

Wednesday 30th:-  The river peaked at 2150mm - more than 5 1/2 feet above normal - at 0800hrs this morning, so the plan to take Jack for a walk along the banks looks as though it will have to be postponed for a while, even though the level is now falling as quickly as it rose.

Our AGM is on Friday 8th February - a week on Friday - when there is a lot to discuss with regard to the way the Club will be managed and run in the future, so if you are a member please be there if you can. After that, I will know how many of the patient people on the waiting list can be invited to join for the 2013 Season, and I'll be in touch with them as soon as possible, but certainly in time for them to wet a line on opening day, 3rd March, if they respond quickly.

Coarse fishing members are able to fish all our Beats until 3rd March but if you want to try the new Beat at Groves Farm, Erbistock - excellent grayling fishing - please remember that we are only allowed four rods at a time and no more than two cars in the park, so it is strictly by prior booking. I keep the book and you can contact me either by e-mail or phone.
