Tuesday 17th September:

1800hrs. Just back from looking over the bridge at Overton and the river is 6" above normal and the colour of dark barley sugar; so it is in absolutely first class order.

All we need is some fish and that is in the lap of the Gods, I hope, rather than in the stomachs of a load of overweight seals!

The full moon on Thursday indicates Spring tides, so if there are any fish waiting they will smell the fresh water and head upstream for all they are worth. We might just be in for some great fishing in the last month of the salmon season.
